Good news! Talked to CK defect-fixing in-charge (for all towers), he said as long as the cabinet's body was protected from water, the legs are ok to be wet!!!!!

I think covering the foot print is good enuf to prevent serious rusting.

Regarding store room for LA, just think of another way - can I install a platform to store luggage trolleys, golf clubs, etc, and with 1 or 2 shelves to be mounted on the walls for other lighter stuffs?

No, a thicker mattress can be put on top of the platform for the maid to sleep on, without sacrifice to the storage space.

Then the platform must be quite thick enough to put those things in and then it also shorten the door height. You maid needs to be aware of the it.

Let's work out as below

Ordinary luggage box is about 12 inches thick then your maid bed base should be at least 14 inches.

Mattress - 5 inches

You have cut out 19inches from the door height.

Normal door height is about 7 feet high and then mins 19inches which only have 65 inches (5 feet 5 inches left) for the door height.

Your maid might beed to bend his body when in/out the room.
